Emotional support

Lisa will spend time with mental health professionals, offering emotional support. She recognizes the importance of addressing the emotional well-being of professionals, providing a nurturing and empathetic presence during supervision sessions. She creates a space where professionals can openly express their emotions, process challenging situations, and receive the support they need to maintain their own mental and emotional well-being.

Engage and strengthen reflective practise skills

Lisa will engage in reflective practice with mental health professionals during supervision sessions. By encouraging introspection and self-awareness, she helps professionals learn from their experiences, gain insight, and continually improve their practice. Through this process, professionals deepen their understanding of themselves, their clients, and their therapeutic approaches, leading to enhanced clinical skills and better outcomes for clients.

Strengthen Individual case conceptualisation and intervention planning skills

• You will deepen your case conceptualisation and intervention planning skills. We will discuss ways to consider the whole person and culture, strengths and clients goals. We will discuss ways to pace intervention to suit individual needs and capacity. I can support intervention planning skills for the following types of therapies :

ACT, CBT, trauma focused CBT, Cognitive Processing therapy, EMDR, Schema Therapy, DBT and Transformational Chair-work.

We can use a variety of strategies to practice, model, and learn more about the above types of therapies using role place, chair work, viewing videos, reading current literature and more. I also believe feedback informed practise is an important element in our work and we will discuss ways to engage our clients in sharing their experience of therapy, the therapy alliance, you will be also be provided opportunities to share your experience of supervision.

• Lisa will spend time with mental health professionals, discussing ethical, legal, and professional challenges as they arise. She facilitates open and honest conversations, offering guidance and helping professionals navigate complex ethical and legal considerations. She emphasizes the importance of maintaining professional boundaries, upholding ethical standards, and protecting client welfare. This will be a process we will do collaborative and use ethical decision making models.

Enhancing the therapeutic alliance

Lisa will spend time with mental health professionals, focusing on enhancing the therapeutic alliance and recognising and repairing ruptures as they arise in the therapy relationship. We will discuss and practise ways to build authenticity, being genuine with our clients in the room to create connection and be attuned to our clients emotional experience. Additionally, she helps professionals navigate challenges in the therapeutic relationship, such as client resistance, transference, and countertransference, promoting healthy and therapeutic connections.

Risk assessment and intervention skill Development

Lisa has an interest in risk assessment and risk intervention having recently completed training in this area and experience in Adult community mental health role. We will learn about current risk assessments to guide your assessment and ways to use this in an engaging and person-centred manner with people we provide care for. We will also explore various interventions to support clients in crisis or at risk of self-harm, or suicidality. We will consider the persons environment, culture, and be focused on strengths.
