Frequently Asked Questions
The first session is an assessment session where you will get to know your Psychologist and they will gather a detailed history of your life and explore your current circumstances. We are curious to find out about you would like to get out of therapy. This is a time to discover if this will be a good fit for you and begin to develop goals for therapy.
You may be eligible for a Mental Health Treatment plan. You can discuss this further with your General Practitioner. This will reduce the session fee for you. Once you have obtained a MHTP you will be able to access up to 10 sessions in a calendar year with a Psychologist. You will first obtain a MHTP allowing up to 6 sessions and then your Psychologist will prepare a progress report faxed to your GP as required to inform of your treatment plan and outcome. If needed you can also access a further 4 sessions and will need to book in to your GP to review the treatment plan after the progress letter has been sent.
You do not need a Mental Health Treatment Plan to book in a session with us.
